Having seen an increase in activities such as ice skating and walking on the ice-covered Kalkbrottssjön in Klagshamn, the City of Malmö wants to secure the lake with life-saving equipment. Although the municipality does not want to encourage the public to spend time on this ice, it wants to ensure that the equipment is in place if an accident occurs. We were given the task and on Monday we assembled our lifeguard posts in place along the lake. The lifesaving ladder creates opportunities to distribute body weight when rescuing someone on the ice and the lifesaving hook becomes an extended arm to reach the distressed person. Together with the lifebuoy that creates buoyancy, there are now good conditions for being able to make a life-saving effort on site. We thank the City of Malmö and PEAB for this trusting assignment!
