How long will it last?
112 The extinguisher (400 ml) empties in 15 seconds at full power. You can stop spraying at any time and move to start extinguishing in another location. 15 seconds at full power allows you to extinguish most fires, in all types of materials, at an early stage. The natural impregnating effect prevents the material from re-igniting. Should the fire require additional extinguishing agents after 15 seconds, you have now dampened the fire, reduced its ability to re-ignite and given you valuable time to retrieve more 112 extinguishers or a 6 kg extinguisher.
Which fires can I extinguish with the 112 extinguisher?
What is its fire rating?
Classification: 3A 13B 15F
Efficiency/fire ratings indicate how effective a fire extinguisher is and the types of fire it is suitable for. The classification and test methods are regulated by the standard EN 3-7, which covers fires in solids (A-fire), liquids (B-fire) and fats (F-fire).
Fire classes and test fires
- A-fire (solids): Tested by extinguishing a wooden pile 50 cm high and 50 cm wide length in dm that can be extinguished and prevented from reuse corresponds to the efficiency class, e.g. 13A = 1.3 m. ( see picture)
- B fire (liquid fires): Tested in a metal container with a mixture of heptane and water. The number indicates the total volume of liquid in liters, e.g. 34B = 34 liters. But also the radius of the test fire in square.
- F-fire (cooking fat): Tested by extinguishing burning vegetable oil heated to spontaneous combustion (330-380 °C). The number corresponds to the amount of oil in liters, e.g. 25F = 25 liters.
Other fire classes
- C-fire (gas): No specific test method, but given as a recommendation by the manufacturer for powder extinguishers with A or B classification. 112 the extinguisher can extinguish gas fires but according to the rules only powder extinguishers can be classified for these fires.
- D-fire (metal): Not included in EN 3-7 as fires vary depending on the properties of the metal.
This classification ensures that fire extinguishers are tested under standardized conditions and that they are suitable for different types of fires. The fire rating does not take into account how effective the extinguishing agent is per unit weight, but only how much a particular extinguisher can extinguish. More extinguishing agent usually means a higher rating.

How many should I have in the Motorhome?
Fire extinguishers are of no use if they are not available, our recommendation is to have a larger extinguisher (2 or 6 liters/kg) in a storage compartment in the motorhome and at least one 112 extinguisher easily accessible in the motorhome. Many customers place one in the kitchen and one in a holder near the door. With a spray length of 3 meters, you can then access large parts of the motorhome from the exit and work your way towards the fire from a safe point. Where do you put yours? But also make sure to buy one for the car and some for the home, or give as a safe gift. Our 3-pack gives you the most for your money.
Does it replace a 6 kg/liter extinguisher?
No, it does not replace a 6kg extinguisher recommended by MSB to have in the home. However, the 112 extinguisher is an incredible complement. Availability and time are important in the event of a fire, place a 112 extinguisher easily accessible in the motorhome, then you have the highest probability of extinguishing the fire at an early stage and avoid expensive cleanup costs. Do you buy a case and insurance for your phone? Then of course you should buy yourself time in case of a fire.

What is meant by sanitation-free?
The extinguishing agent in the 112 extinguisher is very easy to wipe off with paper towels or a cloth. Forget about expensive and difficult clean-up costs. When extinguishing the fire, you have full visibility and you can undoubtedly stay in a confined space like a motorhome and extinguish the fire with full visibility.
Can I put out a burning barbecue?
Yes, it’s no problem, the 112 extinguisher has the capacity to extinguish both Coal, Electric and LPG grills if the accident occurs. Wash clean with paper or cloth and you can grill again. Put it to the test, it can handle more than you think!
Best before date?
112 fire extinguishers have a 5-year warranty but are often good past the Best Before Date. You can find the expiry date on the bottom of the can.
