HOW TO USE A FIRE BLANKET
- Pull the two handles to release the fire blanket.
- Keep the blanket in front of you to protect you from heat and flames while you approach the fire.
- Place the blanket over the fire. Make sure the entire fire is covered to suffocate the oxygen supply.
- Use your hands to press the blanket against the surface. This prevents oxygen from getting under the blanket.
- Leave the blanket in place for 15-20 minutes to ensure that the fire does not flare up again. Only move it when you are sure that the fire is completely out.

ABOUT FIRE BLANKETS
"A fire blanket is a good complement to a fire extinguisher to extinguish small fires or reduce the spread of a fire that has started. The fire blanket consists of one or two layers of fiberglass cloth with a waterproofing layer that lets a minimum of combustible gases through. We recommend a fire blanket that is 120 x 180 cm. Store the fire blanket where you can easily access it, preferably in or near the kitchen as this is where many fires start. When used correctly, the fire blanket will smother the fire. The important thing to remember is not to throw the blanket on the fire. Instead, place it firmly over the fire and press your hands on top of the blanket to smother the fire. If someone's clothes catch fire, try to get them to lie down so that the fire is smothered on the ground. Put on the fire blanket, starting at the top of the head. Make sure the blanket closes tightly, cut or press lightly with your hands on top of the blanket. Always lift the blanket away from the bottom up, so that the fire does not flare up in the person's face. "
